As the new year begins, everything takes on a fresh look. To enrich the spare-time cultural life of young employees, enhance team cohesion and solidarity, and create a joyful, harmonious and positive festive atmosphere, the Youth League Branch of Dongding Special Tubes successfully held the themed tug-of-war competition Gather Youth Strength to Welcome the New Year during the New Year’s Day holiday. Nearly 50 young employees from all workshops and departments formed five representative teams, greeting the promising new year with a contest of strength and beauty and a display of unity and collaboration.
All teams arrived at the venue early for warm-ups and tactical planning, with members eager and ready to compete. With a sharp whistle from the Secretary of the Youth League Branch, the competition officially began. The red ribbon marking the center of the rope instantly became the center of attention, shifting back and forth as the two sides struggled. The contestants gripped the rope tightly, leaned back, pressed their heels into the ground, and chanted in unison: “One, two, pull!” They poured all their strength and team will into the rope. Their faces flushed with effort, sweat beaded on their foreheads, yet their eyes remained firm and unyielding.
Beside the field, the cheer squad of colleagues and leaders was full of passion. Shouts, cheers and applause erupted one after another. “Come on! Hold steady!” “Keep going! Victory is near!” The warm cheers injected strong motivation into the athletes. Every round was intense and thrilling, with evenly matched deadlocks occurring frequently, fully showing the tenacious fighting spirit and excellent teamwork of each team. The competition tested not only strength, but also strategy, endurance and willpower.
After several fierce rounds, the team of young backbones from the Second Workshop won the championship with outstanding coordination and steady performance, while the team from the First Workshop took the runner-up. The General Manager of the company attended the event, presented prizes to the winning teams, and highly praised the vibrant spirit, high morale and close teamwork of all participants.
This tug-of-war was not only a competition of physical strength and skills, but also a profound experience of team culture. It narrowed the distance between young employees from different departments, inspired collective honor through the contest of strength, and deepened camaraderie through joint struggle. Many participants said they had a clearer understanding of the powerful force of “uniting minds and efforts”, which will surely be turned into practical motivation for work.
